Oh Tee, won’t you sit down and listen for a while
I really need to see the miracle that is your smile
In or out of sync with you what answers will I find
If I told you it was no big deal would you say I was unkind
Would you think I had gone back to playing all those old and silly games
Would you think the more things seemed to change…the more they stay the same
I’m standing here before you no agendas no disguise
But I need to know, what do you see when you look into my eyes
In my eyes am I where you are or have I begun to fall
In my eyes am I just a friend or could we have it all
In my eyes does my wisdom show or am I just getting old
In my eyes can you spot the lies if the truth be told
I’m standing here before you no agendas no disguise
But I need to know, what do you see when you look into my eyes
The truth is like a diamond, but it’s a diamond in the rough
The more we dig the more we ask when is enough enough
We poke and prod and push and pull in the name of honesty
Sometimes it seems, we just forget, that it’s only you and me
So I thought, I’d take another look to see just what I might find
And I know, I have to share with you this final truth within my mind
‘Cuz late at night when I sort out the truth from the lies
There are times that I can see forever in your eyes
In your eyes I see the warmth of love that shelters from the cold
In your eyes I see my youth again no longer am I old
In your eyes I see my better half the half that makes me whole
In your eyes I can almost see the reflection of my soul
Yes late at night when I sort out the truth from the lies
There are times that I can see forever in your eyes
In your eyes I see God and all the grace he shares with me
In your eyes I see heaven above but it’s not the one you see
In your eyes I see the lies again that will not let me be
In your eyes I see the truth again the one that sets me free
Yes late at night when I sort out the truth from the lies
There are times that I can see forever in your eyes
Yes late at night when I sort out the truth from the lies
Those are times that I can see forever in your eyes

Notes: Definitely one of my personal favorites. It’s about my best friend at the time and tells the story cryptically of how we became best friends. I think it’s just cryptic enough to be a great song. Not much else to say about this one other than musically it’s simple but good.
